2014 marked my very first WPPI and i must say that the conference experience was more incredible than i ever expected. the seminars and demos were so incredibly informative and inspiring. i left vegas with a LONG list of to-dos. lighting techniques to try; sales methods to implement; new equipment to buy(!!) plus i made some pretty awesome new friends. though we were inundated with new information and ideas, the energy of being around thousands of people with a shared passion for photography propelled me through all risk of feeling overwhelmed. i already can’t wait for WPPI 2015.
this is our dear friend, lisa, who we met last year at the i heart faces photography conference. this incredible, beautiful woman inspired such infectious laughter that will keep me giggling for years.
gorgeous and patient model at the Zach & Jody demo during WPPI University, which was AWESOME
Shawn Lee led a very educational and entertaining lighting tutorial plus he tolerated my 1001 questions!
when in vegas…
Peter Hurley‘s seminar on lighting the face will. revolutionize. my. headshots… mark my words. SHABANG! lol
loved seeing and hearing my IG buddies Zach & Jody in person. really recommend their simple and useful products that they gave away as freebies to their attendees.
our lovely hotel. only the second biggest in the WORLD, with over six thousands guest rooms.
stopping to pose in our mile long hallway
my gorgeous friend and travel buddy Rachel 🙂
the incredibly talented Michael Greenberg gave an inspiring seminar about SIMPLE ways to use flash. what a revalation!
Rachel and i met up with a super talented DC photographer, Andrew Morrell. he ended up leading an impromptu workshop in the vast halls of the MGM for the two of us. our favorite lesson was dragging our shutter to show motion – see below!
made friends with my fave instructor of the day at the WPPI private party at the Hakkasan! he even used his cell phone light as off camera flash for these two photos – brilliant!!
honeycomb selfie we knew we’d be tired coming home on a red eye flight. however, the wonderfully spontaneous DC weather delayed our plane taking off from 11pm to 5am. the plus was we got to hang in vegas longer, but we missed a whole night of sleep and arrived home to our car buried in snow and ice way out in satellite parking. at least it looked beautiful.and WPPI rocked!!! see you next year, vegas!
LOVE. So cool… thanks for chilling with me. A total blast.
You are a world traveler! : ) I am glad you had so much fun. I didn't know you lived so close to me. This was a great summary of your trip, Helen. Thanks for sharing. Love, Becky from Life with Kaishon
