Five and a half years ago, I purchased my house for a number of reasons, one of the top being that the property backs up to woods that joins the Muddy Branch Greenway Trail. In the last couple of weeks when jogging the trails, I’ve been enamored with the Jurassic-looking vegetation that has taken over the floor of the barren landscape. I’ve been itching to bring my camera and my boys to this spot. An impromptu after dinner exploration to the creek last night with a neighbor friend led to this candid depiction of unplugged boyhood. These captures have quickly become some of my all time favorite images that remind me of simpler times and a carefree childhood. Growing up a Tomboy with brothers in an era before screens took over leisurely pleasure, I’m in my element hanging with my boys, getting dirty and of course taking pictures.
