I wrote an article for my favorite mommy blog (http://www.babytalkmoms.com/) filled with practical tips for parents to take better photos of their kids. Check it out!

“As parents, we all want to cherish and preserve the memory of our children from their earliest days on this Earth, through the years that seem to soar right by us. That’s why it’s so important to take frequent photos, as we’ll have no other way to look back on their precious days of babyhood. As a photographer and mom, I want to share some tips that parents can use to improve the snapshots they take of their kids.

      keep it simple

This goes for the backdrop of your photos and the clothing you photograph your child wearing. Find a place that’s free of clutter and distracting objects before you start snapping away and then you won’t have to think about moving to another room or place after you’ve zoomed in on your subject. Solid colored clothing is often best when you want the focus of your picture to be your child’s face, and if it’s appropriate (newborns or infants, for example), no clothing can be the most flattering. Just make sure you cover up or crop your photos strategically!”
