“It was Saturday, August 25, 2012 and Vlad was already acting strange (although, it wasn’t THAT strange, but you be the judge…). Hallie was working at an event and Vlad kept stressing about what time his buddy was going to pick him up to go for their haircuts (two guys getting haircuts together…is that weird?). Typically, when Hallie works an event, Vlad leaves after she does to go hang out with his buddies. This should have been sign #1… but Hallie completely missed the clue!
At 5:36PM Hallie received a text message from Vlad that read, “Hi, don’t freak out but I fainted while I was getting my hair cut and was taken to E.R. Ricky is going to take me home. I am fine now. I didn’t want to stress u out. I love you! “REALLY Vlad? Tell Hallie you passed out and are in the E.R. and expect her not to freak out??? Well, Hallie was busy and didn’t see Vlad’s text until 6:13pm and called but he didn’t answer. Once they spoke he reassured her that he was fine and she shouldn’t come home (she didn’t believe him but stayed on at the work event).
The next part is when Hallie should have realized Vlad was up to something! Big clue #2…Vlad was home and had a rough day but texted Hallie at 11:33pm to ask, “Did they feed u at the wedding?” She replied, “Ya, why?” to which Vlad replied, “When are u going to be home u think?…Just making sure. I may have a fever.”
Awaiting Hallie’s arrival, Vlad received a text from Hallie at 12:51am stating she was, “Going to CVS” to pick up Tylenol for Vlad’s fever. At 1:01am Vlad texted Hallie, “Where are u?” as she pulled into the garage of their building. This was BIG CLUE #2…Vlad is NEVER awake when Hallie get’s home from working an event at 1am, nor does he text multiple times once he knows Hallie is on her way home…
To her surprise…when she walked in the door the entire apartment had been romantically made over she was greeted by Vlad fully dressed, wearing jeans and a white linen shirt that Hallie had just got him during their trip to Miami. Vlad looked great…and BOY was he sweating. In his defense…he had a fever of 101.4 (but he would have been sweating that much even without a fever)!!! He was playing Jason Mraz’s, “Lucky” and doing a nervous dance 🙂
Hallie realized right away what was happening and was VERY surprised. That was the last thing she was expecting to happen after working a wedding and coming home to take care of a sick boyfriend. Vlad had rearranged furniture, moved the carpet, set up a table, went out and bought candle sticks, a table cloth and a desert platter. He also got Hallie’s favorite champagne, ice cream AND last, but certainly not least, he dipped strawberries in dark Ghiradelli chocolate and wrote on them in white chocolate”MARRY ME”… (apparently the question mark was too hard to write…so he just ate it, LOL!)…Hallie said “YES” (at least she thinks she did…we will have to check the Ipad recording) & they enjoyed strawberries & champagne. Vlad took some Tylenol to break his fever…and Hallie began the wedding planning August 26, 2012 at 3:30am (just kidding…sort of…)”
