Last week, I stepped in front of my own camera.
Photographers are pretty much always the ones behind the lens helping everyone else tell their stories. Sometimes, a girl just has to capture her own plot twist.
I created these portraits of myself for my aviation brand, Her Altitude. heraltitude.com
At first glance, Her Altitude is about airplanes and flying. But the meaning goes much deeper than that.
It’s about becoming the person you once thought was “other people.”
It’s about pursuing the dream that won’t leave you alone.
It’s about courage, growth, freedom, and refusing to stay grounded when you were meant to soar.
For me, earning my pilot’s license wasn’t simply learning how to fly an airplane. It was proving to myself that some dreams are worth chasing, no matter how long they take. I started and stopped more than once. Life got in the way. Fear got in the way. Circumstances changed.
But the dream never disappeared.
Eventually, I found my way back to it.
Those experiences shaped the imagery I created for these portraits. Every detail was intentional, from the wardrobe choice to the location to the feeling I wanted the images to evoke. The goal wasn’t simply to create beautiful photographs. The goal was to create photographs that mean something.
That’s the approach I bring to every custom personal branding portrait session.
